Training gets more intense @ Week 2 of the Africa Virtual Accelerator
As the saying goes, ‘Don’t put the cart before the horse’ and week 2 at AVA 2021 was all about showing meaningful growth every single day as the cohort built on learnings from daily sessions to move on to the next step of the program.
Starting off the week with topics such as understanding the market, developing customer personas and populating the business model canvas for each startup set the stage for gathering the right insights and numbers to end the week with determining the metrics that matter and scalable revenue projections for each business.
This was a packed week of activities and really tested the cohort’s commitment to digging deep into their company financials and presenting this based on guidance from the program’s mentors on the information that interests investors. Pitches from week 1 were continuously updated to reflect these new learnings and became a symbol of how much had changed since Day 1.
Dedicated French seminars and lab sessions also ensured that the French speaking startups in the cohort — Cashback, Tootree & Team Assistance Pro — continued to learn along with their peers and also gain insights from dedicated French mentors. Adei Institute of Technology’s partnership with Creative Valley — a world leader in startup incubation & acceleration — continues beyond 2020’s Launch.Boost.Grow program and remains an excellent source of mentorship and participation from Francophone professionals from all over the world.
As a result of the contributions from mentors from Creative Valley as well as the individual mentors of the program featured in week 1 and additional mentors who joined us in week 2, the week ended on a note of confidence and readiness to take on any investor questions on the fundraising journey.
Despite the announcement of lockdowns in Mauritius due to COVID-19 which has postponed the Angel Africa Pitch event to February 11th, 2022, spirits remain high and focused on a common goal — #February2022DealsLoading!
